Prayer for Ukrainian Soldiers and Protectors of the Motherland — a solemn supplication before God for the preservation of our defenders, granting them spiritual fortitude, courage, and safe return home to their loved ones.
Prayer for the Protection of Soldiers on the Battlefield
O Sovereign Lord, God of our fathers, we beseech Thee and cry out unto Thee with steadfast hope: look down mercifully upon our warriors who stand to defend our homeland Ukraine from hostile aggression.
Send forth unto them, O Lord, an angel of peace, a faithful guide, and guardian of their souls and bodies. Clothe them with the armor of Thy righteousness, strengthen their hearts with courage and valor, and turn away from them every lethal bullet, missile, and treacherous trap of the adversary.
Preserve them amidst fire and peril, and uphold them through the mighty power of Thy Precious and Life-Giving Cross. Grant them victory over falsehood, oppression, and injustice.
Return them, O All-Merciful Savior, in health and soundness of body and spirit unto their families, parents, wives, and children, that united they may glorify Thy most honorable and majestic Name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Prayer for Wounded and Captive Soldiers
Compassionate Lord Jesus Christ, Physician of our souls and bodies! Behold our soldiers who suffer from wounds, illness, and hardships of war. Alleviate their pain, heal their physical wounds, renew their strength, and grant them swift recovery.
Remember also, O Lord, the defenders held in enemy captivity and imprisonment. Be their Comforter in affliction, shield them from abuse and despair, preserve their faith, and liberate them from enemy chains, restoring them safely to freedom and their families. For Thou art the Deliverer of captives and Consolation of the afflicted, and unto Thee do we offer glory forever. Amen.
