Prayers for Healing and Relief in Times of Sickness — reverent supplications addressed to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Most Holy Theotokos, and the Great-martyr Panteleimon the Healer for bodily recovery and peace of soul.
Prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ for the Sick
O Master Almighty, Holy King, Who chastenest and destroyest not, Who upholdest them that fall and liftest up them that are crushed, Who curist the bodily afflictions of men: we beseech Thee, our God, visit with Thy mercy Thy servant (name) who is sick; forgive him every transgression, voluntary and involuntary.
Yea, O Lord, send down from heaven Thy healing power; touch the body, quench the fever, soothe the pain, and banish every hidden infirmity. Be the physician of Thy servant (name); raise him up from his bed of suffering whole and sound, and present him to Thy Church pleasing Thee and doing Thy holy will. For Thine it is to have mercy and to save us, our God, and unto Thee do we offer up glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Prayer to Saint Panteleimon the Great-Martyr and Healer
O great favorite of Christ, passion-bearer and most merciful physician Panteleimon! Have compassion upon me, a sinful servant of God; hear my groaning and cry, and entreat the Heavenly Physician of our souls and bodies, Christ our God, that He may grant me recovery from the illness that oppresses me.
Accept this unworthy prayer, visit me with thy gracious presence, and heal the infirmities of my soul and body, that restored to health by God’s infinite grace, I may spend the rest of my days in repentance and good works pleasing to God. O holy unmercenary physician, pray to Christ our God that through thy mediation He may grant health to my body and salvation to my soul. Amen.
