Thanksgiving Prayers After Holy Communion are recited following the Divine Liturgy after receiving the Holy, Immortal, and Life-Giving Mysteries of Christ. This rule of the Orthodox prayer book aids in preserving divine grace, sanctity, and spiritual vigilance in daily life.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Glory to Thee, O God. Glory to Thee, O God. Glory to Thee, O God.
I thank Thee, O Lord my God, that Thou hast not rejected me, a sinner, but hast made me worthy to be a partaker of Thy Holy Things. I thank Thee that Thou hast granted me, unworthy though I am, to partake of Thy most pure and heavenly Gifts.
O Master, Lover of mankind, Who didst die for us and rise again, and hast bestowed upon us these Thy dread and life-creating Mysteries for the well-being and sanctification of our souls and bodies: grant that they may be even unto me for the healing of soul and body, for the turning away of every adversary, for the illumination of the eyes of my heart, for the peace of my spiritual powers, for faith unashamed, for love unfeigned, for the fullness of wisdom, and for the keeping of Thy commandments. Amen.
