The Akathist to Saint Panteleimon the Great Martyr and Healer is a prayer that is read in churches to invoke the intercession of this great saint, known for his miracles and healing abilities. During this prayer, the faithful praise Panteleimon as a protector against diseases and illnesses, and ask for his assistance in all aspects of life.

Prayer
O great servant of Christ and most glorious healer, great martyr Panteleimon! Standing before the Throne of God in Heaven with thy soul, and delighting in the glory of the Holy Trinity, and dwelling on earth in the holy churches with thy sacred body and likeness, and pouring forth various wonders by the grace given to thee from above, look mercifully upon those who stand before thee, who humbly pray to thee and thy icon, and who ask for thy healing help and intercession. Stretch out thy prayers to the Lord our God, and ask for the forgiveness of our sins. For we, by our transgressions, are not worthy to lift up our eyes to the height of Heaven, nor to raise our voice in prayer to His glory, which is inaccessible in His divinity. With a heart that is humbled and a spirit that is meek, we call upon thee, O intercessor, as thou hast received grace from Him to drive away diseases and to heal passions. We beseech thee: do not despise us, who are unworthy, who pray to thee and who ask for thy help. Be to us a comforter in afflictions, a healer of grievous diseases, a speedy protector of those who are oppressed, a restorer of sight to the blind, a speedy intercessor and healer for the young and the old. Intercede for us with all things that are useful for our salvation, that we may receive grace and mercy from the Lord our God, and may glorify the One who is the Source of all good and the Giver of all gifts, the One God, who is glorified in the Holy Trinity, now and always, and forever and ever.
