May God arise and His enemies be scattered, and may all His haters flee from His presence. As smoke vanishes, let them vanish, as wax melts before fire, so may the demons perish from the presence of those who love God and who overshadow themselves with the sign of the cross and joyfully say: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-giving Cross of the Lord, who drives out demons by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ crucified on you, who descended into hell and overcame the power of the devil, and gave you to us, His Honorable Cross, to drive out every adversary.

O Most Holy and Life-giving Cross of the Lord, help me with the Holy Virgin Theotokos and with all the holy Heavenly Forces always, now, and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Protect me, Lord, by the power of Your Precious and Life-giving Cross, and with it protect me from all evil.
