Our home is not just a physical space, it is a place where our everyday life takes place, where we rest our mind and body, raise children and build relationships. The Christian spiritual heritage teaches us to treat the home as a “domestic church”. That is why it is important to maintain spiritual purity in the home, bless it with prayer and cleanse it of all evil, strife, fear and negative spiritual influence.

Spiritual foundation: secret prayer in the home

The blessing of a home begins with the personal prayer of its residents. Jesus Christ called us to pray in secret, closing the door of his room. In The Gospel of Matthew 6:6 He teaches: “And you, when you pray, go into your closet, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret.”

When you pray in your home, you turn it into a sanctuary of God’s presence. Here you build a living personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ and listen to the quiet instructions of the Holy Spirit. Practice of hesychasm and the “Diary of Love”

The practice of hesychasm (inner silence) teaches us that peace in a home begins with peace in the hearts of its inhabitants. If there is shouting, irritation or fear in the family, the house is filled with a heavy atmosphere. Hesychasts advise to recite the Jesus prayer daily in the walls of your home in order to fill it with grace.

God loves each of us infinitely and wants our families to live in peace and security.
